Racha Noi is the smaller, wilder, uninhabited southern island. Where Yai is sand and hard coral, Noi is granite: house-sized boulders piled down a slope into deep water, with current running past the ends of the island.

That is why divers go and swimmers mostly do not. The south tip and the pinnacles off it are advanced sites with real current, and manta and whale shark sightings cluster there between February and April.

There is no shelter and no village. The island is a stop, not a destination, and the yacht moves on to Racha Yai to sleep.
