Ao Po sits on the northeast shore of Phuket, which puts it about twelve nautical miles from the first limestone islands of Phang Nga Bay. On a boarding day that difference is worth roughly an hour and a half against a departure from the west or south of the island, and on a three-day charter an hour and a half is a swimming stop.
The 280 berths run up to 85 metres, and the entrance is dredged deep enough that a large hull does not have to wait for water. That combination is why most of the visiting superyacht fleet berths here between November and March rather than at the older marinas further south.
Fuel goes on at high flow rates alongside, and fresh water, three-phase shore power and round-the-clock security come with the berth. Customs and immigration clear on site, which matters if the charter starts or ends outside Thai waters.
