Koh Hong, Krabi

Ko Hong, Mu Ko Hong

A second hidden lagoon, this one wide enough to take the tender inside and quiet enough to swim in.

Pale green lagoon enclosed by limestone walls with a tender inside

The Krabi Koh Hong is the larger of the two islands with that name and the easier one to get into. The lagoon opens through a proper channel rather than a low tunnel, so the tender goes in under power and there is no tide puzzle to solve.

The water inside is a flat, pale green pool walled by three hundred metres of limestone. It is the single most photographed anchor-out in the Krabi group and it earns it.

The beach on the east side has a park station, a landing and good sand holding, which makes it a straightforward overnight.
